Affirm Multiplex Dual Fractional Laser
Nonablative

First in Florida

We were the first in Florida to offer the Affirm Multiplex Dual Fractional Laser. This revolutionary, new technology nonablatively rejuvenates skin with little to no downtime! nonablative means that no tissue is vaporized during the treatment, however like a CO2 Fractional laser, the skin is just highly stimulated very deeply. This tricks the skin into believing it is wounded when it is not, eliciting a healing response which results in skin tightening and skin rejuvenation.

Dr. Soro Explains the use of the Affirm Multiplex Dual Fractional Nonablative Laser

Affirm MPX Dual Fractional Laser

The Affirm Multiplex fractionated nonablative laser is one of the most popular and versatile lasers offered here at Shino Bay Cosmetic Dermatology. It is a dual wavelength 1320/1440 Nd:YAG laser that is great for a variety of skin ailments. This includes acne and acne scarring, postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, melasma, and sundamaged, wrinkled skin.

The dual-laser light technology bypasses the top layer of skin and focuses on deeper levels to create many microcolumns of thermal injury. This destroys damaged collagen fibers and slowly replaces them with new collagen and elastic fibers, lifting depressions and wrinkles from the bottom up. The 1320 wavelength laser goes even deeper and can help tighten the skin by causing contraction of deep collagen and stimulating newer collagen.

The procedure is a relatively quick in office procedure and has much less downtime when compared to ablative lasers such as fractionated CO2. Most patients are able to return to work the next day. A series of 3-4 treatments, each a month apart, is usually recommended to maximize results.

This laser is excellent for patients with more superficial acne scars and postinflammatory hyperpigmentation or redness (before and after photos of dark skin patient can be shown here). It also works great for patients with stubborn melasma when used in combination with peels and other topical bleaching creams. For melasma, I typically recommend alternating the Affirm laser with a Melanage or Cosmelan chemical peel every 3-4 weeks. The laser works to break up pigment present in the dermis so that your body can clear it out more quickly.

Overall, this is a great laser for someone looking for firmer and younger looking skin with much less downtime when compared to more aggressive lasers or peels.

The Affirm is proven effective on fine wrinkles, photo aging, tissue laxity and skin discolorations caused by sun damage and aging
