What is Icon?
Icon is a complete treatment solution for all skin types! From skin revitalization to hair removal, the Icon system improves the appearance of the skin using laser energy customized according to each patient’s specific needs, which provides increased safety and enhanced results!
Icon laser treatment uses microscopic beams of heat to stimulate cells to thicken the underlying collagen resulting in improved skin tone, texture, and elasticity. The Cynosure Icon laser is safe on most skin types, and a series of treatments will produce optimal results.
How does Icon Laser work?
The Icon fractional laser achieves significant skin resurfacing results using laser energy microbeams to create areas of affected tissue that extend through the epidermis into the dermis. The natural healing process forms new, healthy tissue to replace the areas of affected tissue, resulting in healthier, younger-looking skin and reducing or eliminating the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Icon laser rejuvenation treats stretch marks and scars.
Icon laser skin resurfacing works on all skin types, including very light and dark skin.
Length of treatment
Icon laser resurfacing sessions last between 30 minutes and an hour.
Downtime
Patients can expect to be somewhat red and swollen for 24-48 hours after a session; however, the Icon fractional laser treats so many skin afflictions that downtime depends on the condition under treatment. Please ask us — we are happy to discuss!
Results
While results are visible after a single treatment, 3-5 sessions of Icon laser treatment will achieve optimal results.
