What is Sculptra?

How does Sculptra work?
Sculptra is an injectable dermal filler that helps fight aging skin. The formula is a mixture of powder, water/saline solution, and poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) produced by Galderma. The poly-L-lactic acid works subtly and gradually over time for a more youthful appearance, stimulating natural collagen production in the skin to help restore deteriorated bone structure and increase volume.
Length of treatment
Sculptra procedures take about 10 minutes or more, dependent on the treatment area.
Downtime
There is no downtime associated with Sculptra injections.
Results
The ultimate result of a Sculptra treatment is fuller-looking skin. Skin will eventually look plumper, bouncier, and more youthful — with maximum effect around five to six months post-injection. Results can last up to two years. Sculptra requires several injections to work optimally — an 8-week follow-up for about 2 to 3 sessions is typical, and afterward, only a yearly follow-up is required.
